Lost Rewatch Awesome Moments:

Part 50. S6 E18  The End.

The End…

Iconic moment of Lost completing the story from when Jack’s eye first opened in Season 1 Episode 1, to it finally closing in The End Season 6 Episode 18.

No real mystery there, but how beautiful and poetic was that moment in the bamboo with Vincent not letting Jack die alone. How could it possibly have ended any other way?

Lost Rewatch was different this time round, mainly because I had gotten over the shock of the sideways from last year and was ready to let go and enjoy it for what it is.

So from me that wraps up my 50 Lost Rewatch Awesome Moments just in time for the Lost Finale 1st Anniversary. I think this is quite a pertinent way to End this Lost Blog ”The Beginning of The End,” with a comparison showing the “Beginning & The End.”

( If your a little sentimental like me on this 1st year anniversary to the End of Lost, the full scene of THE END can be viewed here:  http://youtu.be/5M5-IK2vkZ0 )

Lost is simply the best written, most beautiful, emotional, mentally stimulating, Internet changing, phenomenal TV Series in history.

Happy Lost Anniversary,

See you in another Life old friend.

Namaste and Good Bye.

Part 49. S6 Ep17/18  The End.

Corked Up!

Des goes into the heart of the island and unplugs the source then Jack returns to plug it back in.

- “Can I tell you a secret? If you unplug it and then you plug it back in again, the candy just drops straight down and it’s technically legal.”

The most awesome of Lost scenes ever!

Right from Jack & fLocke lowering Des into the source together, to seeing what the heart of the island now looks like after Jacob’s redecorating with a touch of interior design and some very important ancient writing on the Cork. The look, the feel, the sound effects, the way the uncorked source appeared to die opening a gate to Hell, To fLocke saying “It looks like you were wrong” to Jack.

Same again when Jack revisits to replug the Island and sacrifice himself. Both scenes are incredible, magical and beautifully done.

In honour of The Most Awesome of Lost Rewatch Awesome Moments, I made a fan clip stitching together the whole Heart of The Island / Cork scenes from start to finish.

Happy Lost Anniversary,

Namaste.

Update: Unfortunately I was forced to take the video off YouTube due to Copyright infringement by Disney. I got a STRIKE! and a slap on the wrists for this video clip. With all the thousands of Lost clips on YouTube, this clip must have stood out and caught Disney’s attention somehow, so I apologise but will take the feedback as a compliment.

Lost Rewatch Awesome Moments:

Part 48. S6 Ep 17/18  The End.

“Can I tell you a secret? If you unplug it and then you plug it back in again, the candy just drops straight down and it’s technically legal.”

- Most Awesome and meaningful phrase of the series by Juliet to Sawyer at the vending machine in the sideways. This is my one and only Lost Rewatch Awesome Moment from the Sideways due to it being so Fucking Awesome. I just couldn’t ignore it, mainly because of the brilliantly done secret reveal that is so relevant to the Real Lost timeline, but also because the remembrance scene between Sawyer and Juliet was the best one of them all.

Happy Lost Anniversary,

Namaste.

Lost Rewatch Awesome Moments:

Part 47. S6 Ep15  Across the Sea

- The Birth of Jacob, MIB & The Smoke Monster

Totally Awesome right from Jacob & MIB’s birth, Mother murdering Claudia, the Introduction to The Source of all Life in all its beautiful glowing splendour and then for the whole exceptional episode. So different, so mythological , so many revelations, for years Darlton teased that the Island would get it’s own backstory episode. Well Fuck me this is as good as it gets. No sideways, no familiar characters, just The beginning of everything, well as far as we were going to go anyway, with Mother, Jacob, his bad special twin MIB and the Re-Birth of The Smoke Monster.

One of  my favourite episodes not only from S6, but from the whole series. It was an episode I had always waited patiently for and knew would come in one form, one day, but this was a masterpiece. If the Series had ended here, I could have survived with that alone, but I’m glad there is a little more business to be done just yet and that’s The End.

Further Investigation:

Mother was definitely Smokey before MIB after listening again to the DVD commentary and probably her Mother was before that. She probably killed her too: “She’s dead.” In this mythological story there needs to be evil to balance the good in the form of The Smoke Monster. As Damon said: “Does good always need Evil? An excellent question.” Mother had manipulated MIB to kill her & would eventually take over her role of Smokey, but Jacob would protect the source. (A job that possibly she did both single handedly before & was originally planning on passing on all powers to MIB too before he wanted to leave and betray her) Anyone could be chosen to protect The Island, but only the special children go on to be eligible to be The Smoke Monster.

MIB was special and he went on to replace Mother, which is why she said Thank You when he killed her, so now MIB Smokey is dead, who will replace him? Oh The Man in Charge will need to sort that out, so who does the new protector Hurley know who has special powers, and wasn’t on Jacob’s List? Oh yes Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaalt!

The Circle of Lost Life continues…

Happy Lost Anniversary Weekend,

Namaste.

Part 46. S6 Ep12  Everybody Loves Hugo

“Why aren’t you afraid?” - MIB

I’m the famous Smokey, The Smoke Monster, I’m the man with no name, I’m seriously badass evil, Why the fuck aren’t you afraid of me Des?

“What is the point of being afraid?” - Des

Awesome scene at the Well at the end of the episode, I love the way fLocke is confused by Des and is cleverly trying to work out his purpose. Jacob had played his trump move in this play of the game, this clearly unsettled MIB and soon Des would help Checkmate him in a fantastic twist.

Happy Lost Anniversary Weekend,

Namaste.

Lost Rewatch Awesome Moments:

Part 45. S6 Ep11  Happily Ever After

Des is the One.

Desmond ‘The One’ Hume, the only person in the world who has survived a catastrophic electro magnetic event and can travel between past, present, future and also sideways worlds. In respect for such an awesome scene with Des in the EM box, I made a fan vid this time last year just after seeing it quite a few times. At the time we still didn’t know how it would all end, but there were definitely a few subtle Matrix nods in there or maybe that’s me just being an obsessive Matrix fan aswell as a Lost nut. Anyway, enjoy with a pinch of salt…

Part 44. S6 Ep9  Ab Aeterno

“Stop MIB leaving the Island or we all go to Hell.”

Such an awesome episode, as one of my favourite episodes of Lost it is difficult to pick only one awesome moment.

Jacob brings the Black Rock to the island, MIB smashes it into Jacob’s statue as a big Fuck You! MIB tries to manipulate RA by telling him he is in Hell and that Jacob is the Devil. RA tries to kill Jacob with the mythological dagger, Jacob is a bad ass fighter and at this point decides he needs to change his plan and enrols RA as his intermediate between him and his people by 1st baptising him in the sea then drinking the holy wine and touching RA giving him the gift of immortality.

Then Hurley saves RA in a beautiful scene with Isabella back in real time. This scene wins my awesome moment for this episode as i’m just a romantic at heart.

Giacchino excelled himself again in this episode, as the musical score was beautiful for the whole episode and ripped at your heart strings.

This is also the point when I sat back in awe, slowly absorbing all the answers being thrown at us in one emotional ride and sadly realising that this was really the beginning of the end of Lost.

Namaste.

Part 43. S6 Ep7 Dr Linus

Dynamite Roulette!

Jack & Richard Alpert in the Black Rock with a shitload of unstable dynamite. RA wants to die, but Jack is more concerned with testing Jacob & The Island, an insane leap of Faith by Jack.

What a scene.

Lost Rewatch Awesome Moments:

Part 42. S6 Ep6 Sundown

Catch a Falling Star.

Spine chilling climax to the episode just after Smokey let’s loose on the temple at Sundown after Sayid drowns Dogen and time runs out. Claire earily singing the old favourite ‘Catch a Falling Star’ while we watch the devastation of evil on the undefended Temple and The MIB with his new recruits.

War has officially begun…

Part 41. S6 Ep6 Sundown

Smokey in the wind.

Another awesome Smokey materialisation perspective from the wind & sounds around Sayid, but Sayid was too slow, he needed to stab fLocke before he spoke, not after he had time to say Hello. Then fLocke casually pulls out his very own 2000+ year old dagger, the same one he as MIB used to kill his own Mother, and says to a horrified Sayid:

“Now why d’you go and do that?”

I love that scene.

Part 40. S6 Ep4 The Substitute

‘First Person Smokey’

Totally Chilling scene when Smokey’s First Person view then transforms into fLocke.

The view from Smokey as he spied on Sawyer in the cabin, his next recruit target, then he goes to pay RA another visit.

It was an awesome viewpoint and an awesome moment.

All the time we imagined what the smoke monster was, no one imagined that we would ever see it quite in this way. It was so much more than just an awesome moment, more of a moment I had always dreamed of.

Lost Rewatch Awesome Moments:

Part 39. S6 Ep1 LAX pt1

“I’m sorry you had to see me like that.”

- fLocke says to Ben after killing Jacob’s bodyguards in Tawaret’s Foot.

Classic Awesome Scene and one of my Favourite lines.

Finally we had the answer to one of Lost’s biggest mysteries, What is the Smoke Monster?

Or should it be Who is the Smoke Monster? The What will come later.

This and the next few Awesome Moments are all huge Smoke Monster Revelations shown in several different ways and perspectives throughout Season (Tikka Tikka Tikka) 6.

Alcatraz:

JJ Abrams, Another Island, Another Dimension, Another Mystery and Jorge Garcia.

Lost Rewatch Awesome Moments:

Part 38. S5 Ep18 The Incident (Pt2)

“Come on you son of a bitch!”

The Final scenes, Ben kills Jacob thanks to MIB’s loophole and then Juliet hits the H bomb 8 times, Fade to White for the first time in Lost, Awesome Finale with huge implications that left me totally Gobsmacked.

It drove millions mad afterwards with the simple question, Did it work or didn’t it?

As it turns out, although we were all led to believe something significant happened with the possibilities of alternate universes, in actual fact that was all left to Fringe to cover, in Lost it had simply already happened just as it just played out, the Losties actually helped cause the Incident.

Season 5 had some seriously Awesome moments but it did unfortunately have too many silly gun fight scenes, which are always daft!

Shit was that an actual critisism of Season 5? I didn’t mean it really, all was forgiven after the incredible final scenes and the Fade to White moment.

Namaste.

Lost Rewatch Awesome Moments:

Part 37. S5 Ep17 The Incident (Pt1)

”They come, they fight, they destroy, they corrupt, it always ends the same.”

The opening scene with Jacob in the statue then with MIB talking about the arrival of the Black Rock.

Awesome historic moment.

Jacob brought the Black Rock to the Island and that was all, they were stranded there, unable to leave, but safe when you read the Black Rock Journals. Surely It was MIB that created the storm, like all the others when bad things happened and purposely smashed the Black Rock into the statue of Tawaret where Jabob lived as a big Fuck You!

“Do you have any idea how badly I want to kill you?” - MIB
