The Lost Plot & The Green Lantern and Flash Faster Friends Part’s 1 & 2 (Walt’s Comic Book) Revealed.
In the Pilot episode of season 1 we first see the comic book being read by Walt on the beach. Hurley brought a Spanish translation of a Green Lantern and Flash comic book entitled Green Lantern/Flash: Faster Friends Part One (1997) aboard Oceanic Flight 815. (“Exodus, Part 2”) Walt later found this comic amidst the wreckage.
Most people would have seen the familiar pics of the Island, Alien X and the Polar bear but that was back in season 1, what happens in the comic book after that point is incredibly linked to the whole plot of Lost.

I truly believe that Darlton put this “Easter Egg” in the pilot for a very good reason and will eventually prove that they new what they were doing and how Lost would end right from the very beginning, proof that they were not making it up as they went along.
Damon & Carlton also happen to be fanatical comic book fans!
I will not publish how the story ends in the comic book, because it could be the biggest spoiler of all spoilers but at the very least I believe it is a big clue.
In summary, Part’s 1&2 of The Green Lantern and Flash Faster Friends covers everything from Alien X to Inter-Dimensional time travel, to a Religious Alien Temple, Idol’s of Lost Worship very similar to Jacob’s Foot, Good Vs Evil, Revenge and Returning Home. (where home is another dimensional world) See Slideshow above.
Many familiar symbols and themes also appear in the comic such as The Frozen Donkey Wheel, The Black Rock, The Sickness, Psychics and Psychic Vibration, Mind Control, A Smoke Monster, Alien X in Chains (LITERALLY), Revenge, Compassion, Redemption, What’s Done is Done, 3 Choices, An overall Energy/Life Force which is drained from the humans, just like “The Force” in Star Wars, Electromagnetic energy, The Fail Safe Key, Interdimentiional travel, The ‘Ring’ of magical powers and Alien Religious Civilisations. Alien X wants to go Home, Alien X’s last words were “They are Coming” just like Jacob’s last words.
Finally the “X” in Alien X - notice the space before “X’ just like LA (space) X. This is a common theme in Sci-Fi in that “X” indicates an Alternate Reality. Alien X is an Alien from another dimention.
Need I say any more apart from:
“There is no such thing as coincidence”
Namste.
