Lost Rewatch Awesome Moments:
Part 21. S4 Ep9 - The shape of things to come
So good I had to give it 4 awesome scenes in one episode.
1 - Ben awakes in the Sahara desert with Dr Halliwax’s Dharma Orchid Jacket on, he shakes, frozen cold, stunned, injured and pukes. What an awesome opening scene, another mind fuck moment alright. The clues were now flooding through quicker than we could process them and before you know it the whole Island goes Bloop!
2 - Keamy shoots Alex in front of Ben. Major moment for Ben and the future storyline.
I actually felt sorry for Ben, an emotional moment.
Then……
3 - Smokey goes Mental!
An emotional wrecked Ben unplugs a mini stone cork in a mini well that let’s the water drain away (unseen until S5) and somehow summons the Smoke Monster for one scary shit Awesome Smokey scene. At the time it was all just insane shit and all I could think about was how the Fuck did Ben just summon the Smoke Monster at will? We wouldn’t see that for a while, but more importantly it did resemble the main cork stone at the heart of the island, it was the same mystical ancient mechanics at work.
4 - When Ben tracks down Widmore in London and they have that long intriguing chat.
Part of Lost’s charm was how the Episode Titles told you so much about the theme to come, especially so in this episode, actually it feels more like a new Chapter Title.
This whole episode was also awesome, when I first saw it I was still recovering from The Constant, now this!
Oh My! When it rains, it pours on Lost. Ain’t that the truth.
