Thoughts on ‘The Package’ Ep.10: “See you on the other side, Brotha”.
I thought it was hysterical that when Sun finally gets a few lines, she can no longer speak english, I laughed so loud, poor old Sun, but I can’t help but think things are not going to end up all ‘Happily Ever After’ with this couple.
My question is this though, was it MIB that took away her english so that he could more easily manipulate her and Jin? If he did, he didn’t expect her to whip out a notebook and pen now did he, hah! The timing with this happening and Sun looking in the deja vu mirror in the ALT was uncanny though, like a first BIG hint that these two timelines are somehow merging. The other hints were all those Dharma revelations and how the ALT reality kind of co-exists with the Island reality. Are they merging, or are we seeing what I keep thinking that this is, a world where there is no Island, where MIB is free to roam the world and the Eve of the Apocalypse? Then again, it always ends the same way, however many realities you use, so they could well be merging literally here.
Zoe was asking Jin about locating the electromagnetic pockets on the island , WHY? What for? That knowledge must be from Jin’s Dharma days in 70’s isn’t it, or maybe not, what If Jin actually was a mole, a spy, a double agent for Dharma all this time? there was a lot of strange hints in this episode that not everything is as you expect it to be and alot of odd connections going on in the two realities.
Jin and Sun finally get pregnant after crashing on a magical island. In the flash sideways, however, they fall in love and then Sun gets shot, while pregnant. Destiny IS a fickle bitch, some people just aren’t meant to be together.
I Loved Jin in the mind-fucking Room 23, ”God loves you as he LOVED Jacob.” hmmm, Jacob has always been in the Past tense, interesting, I missed that.
I just can’t see Ben and Widmore working together against MIB.
Widmore is clearly aware of that fact that Des is uniquely and miraculously special and that the RULES do not apply to him, probably from Eloise Hawking and his son Dan. Hey Dan, your plan kinda worked mate!

The mantra that has been forced into our minds is that the Rules don’t apply to Des and he is Special. Imagine a War where one side possesses a ‘Super Hero’ where the Rules of War and the Rules of Lost do not apply, now that would be an advantage, or even a kind of ‘Loophole.’ I can’t help but feel that Des in the ALT is different to everyone else, he seems to know everything and appears to be there for a purpose. What if the Des we are seeing in the ‘Sideways Reality’ is the process of Des carrying out Jacob/Widmore’s plan and ultimately a Loophole in MIB’s plan to win the War.

Widmore is the only one here who is likely to give us proper answers but unfortunately all he knows is that MIB is not John Locke and everything else he knows is a combination of Myth, Ghost stories and Jungle noises in the night. Oh Shit, that’s not good then is it? Even Buffy knew more than that. Hang on, how come he never encountered Smokey before? He must know more than he is letting on, surely. He used to rule the Island, what protected The Others from Smokey before the Dharma sonic fence arrived? Ash?
Widmore’s mobile Sonic Fence was cool, I’m glad Charles turned out on the side of Humanity but at the cost of his daughter and grandson I expect, Oh, Penny will be pissed. But then as Widmore said:
” …Your wife, your daughter, my daughter, everyone we know and love would simply CEASE TO BE if that thing masquerading as John Locke ever got off this island.”
In addition to vast knowledge about the earth’s magnetic field & electro magnetism, Geophysicists like Zoe tend to also be quite versed in the areas of volcanos. I have a strong feeling that Volcanos are going to be huge here in the Finale.

The dormant Volcano on The Island has to be significant. The Dharma class during S3, the word ‘crater’ was on Rousseau’s map, Bernard’s SOS on the beach was made using black lava rocks, The Ring of Ash around Jacob’s Cabin and the use of Ash to protect against Smokey etc…
The Island is a Volcanic Island just like all the Islands of Hawaii. Maybe the magic ring of ash that protects people from Smokey is in fact simply Volcanic ash from the Island Volcano. Maybe, the magnetic properties of the volcanic ash has an adverse affect on Smokey, like Kryptonite is to Superman. I personally would prefer it to be Magnetite, which really does exist in the real world. Did you know that under pressure (as in a mineral spring), Sulfur (Atomic No. 16) from volcanic ash bonds to water. This results in the healing of wounds and a healthy immune system. It also protects against the effects of radiation and slows down the aging process (Life Extension Project). Volcanic ash is hard and abrasive. It does not dissolve in water, and it conducts electricity, especially when it is wet. All very Interesting.
Imagine some time, long long ago, at the beginning of time itself, Earth, Life, Man & Love was born at the same time as Evil Incarnate, Pure Evil, The Evil Force with No Name. to keep things in equilibrium and give man a chance, God caused a huge volcanic eruption from the bowels of the earth that managed to cool, block and ‘CORK ’ the First Evil at bay.
Now how do I tie that in with my Alien X falling from a meteor long long ago theory???
