Damn that Lapidus is a fine pilot! Lapidus performs his Island role by performing an amazing landing onto the runway the Losties built back in S3. Poor old Sun, she is just left behind with Frank , Ben, Ilana & co. While Jack, Hurley, Sayid & Kate get their 1st taste of Time Travel & realise they are in 1977 Dharmaville with Sheriff LaFleur, Jin & Miles.
The 3 years time lapse for both groups on & off the Island are both kind of relative, they are all 3 years older and wiser. Here is proof also that Jacob knew exactly what was going to happen in future events, he instructed the Others via Richard to build that runway 3 years ago.
